factory materials 1

I bought a scanner at salvation army for seven dollars. One of the things I package at the factory comes in a box that has this sticker on the outside, which I assume means it has passed through Hong Kong on its way to us. I cut off and saved every one I had the chance to. I tend to save little pieces of paper I'm attracted to; I think it's important to act on impulses that tell me things are awesome.

  1. I thought of you the other day after mowing the lawn with my electric mower. When I was done working, I tossed the bright orange extension cord aside. As it landed I thought that the scribble of orange lines against the green grass made an interesting composition. The super high saturation of the colors seemed so Ian to me, they reminded me of the images you printed out for the senior show. I thought about maybe photographing the scribbily-coiled cord every time I finish mowing, but I proll'y won't get around to it. I just thought you'd get a kick out of the idea of drawing with physical lines in real space.
